Fall has got to be my favorite time of the year to bake and I just found the most amazing Apple Bread recipe this week. My food pictures suck, but here ya go...
In a large bowl mix:
1 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
In a medium bowl sift:
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
Peel and chop three cups of Granny Smith apples, then fold into your batter. You can also fold in 1 cup walnuts, but I didn't because I don't like nuts in my sweets. I found this original recipe on www.food.com which is a great resource for anything you're wanting a recipe for.
In other news, our Trick-or-Treat was postponed until tomorrow evening due to the forecast for some pretty bad storms, but we dressed up anyway since it was Halloween.
I got this little witch hat for Caroline, but she refuses to wear it so I rocked it out for the day. Maybe next year little witch.
And my sweet chick is the cutest little lion on the block! I knew I wanted this costume as soon as I saw it in the Chasing Fireflies catalog a few months ago...for SEVENTY flipping dollars! Found it on E-bay for $30 and free shipping :) Mama Win. Oh and I added a little red bow to match the one on her tail and so people wouldn't think she was a boy. I may just have to dress up as Dorothy or a scarecrow tomorrow. Or maybe a lion tamer. Or most likely I will just be too lazy and procrastinate again and just not be anything. I'm lame, what can I say. Hope y'all had a wonderful Halloween!
