We had an absolutely perfect weekend, both weather and activity wise. It was filled with lots of outside time, plenty of me and hubby date time, our Goddaughter and her awesome friends, great food, 5K's, and some quality family time. A perfectly well-rounded weekend.
Saturday morning, we rolled out of bed bright and early and headed to Lexington to do the Color Me Rad 5K at Coldstream Park. It was absolutely packed but we had a great time. I PR'd which was really suprising since there were more hills on this course than I've ever run. Mind you, my PR is only 33 minutes, but that's a 4 minute improvement from my first 5K back in the fall so I'll take it.
Juston avoided the color blasts like the plaque sprinting through the color stations. I think he missed the point.
I thought we'd get more colorful than what we did, but either way, we had a great time. We met my Goddaughter Emi and her friend Lindsey for lunch at Old Chicago after the race. She came in later that day with some of our favorite chicks to watch Caroline while we attended a gala for Juston's work.
Caroline is just nuts about these chicks! She has the best time, they teach her the most ridiculous things and document it all on Spapchat and they pretty much let her rule the roost so everybody wins. We will be so sad that two of the girls are moving after this semester :( We've just fallen in love with all of these girls. We got all dressed up Saturday night and never even got a picture. I was totally off my game, I guess.
We got up Sunday morning and had a big breakfast and all got ready for church. Juston was about as excited as Juston gets since turkey season opened up this weekend, so he headed out early Sunday to turkey hunt.
We all had lunch together out on the deck in the beautiful sunshine and the girls had to head back to school. Caroline spent the rest of the afternoon searching for her "Memme", "Bonca" and "Heecole". It was such a great weekend. They should all be this full of love, sunshine and awesome people!
